***September Self Care Special! 33% OFF in person Crystal Healing/Reiki sessions! Enter code 4ME33 at checkout!***
The Autumnal Equinox occurs this Saturday September 22nd at 9:54 pm EDT as the sun enters the sign of Libra. The Full Moon in Aries occurs just 2 days later, Monday September 24th at 10:52 pm EDT. They occur so close together that we will be feeling the effects of the full Aries moon as we celebrate the arrival of Fall. This will definitely be an active time of harvesting what has been sown all summer!
The Sun will be kept company in Libra by Mercury and asteroid Ceres. Nurturing, sensitive, cooperative communication in relationships is being highlighted at this time. You may find this is the time to confront past issues not previously dealt with fully. These could be painful issues for you to bring up but if they are not dealt with and let go like the dying leaves of a tree, they will continue to fester, causing more pain and resentment. If the trees held onto their leaves...

Summer is almost here!!! I can’t believe how quickly Spring went by! The Summer Solstice is this Thursday June 21st and just a few days before that on Monday June 18th, Neptune goes retrograde.
Every year for about 5 months, Neptune turns around and begins his annual retrograde period. Now of course, this is a matter of perception - the planets don’t actually turn around and go backwards! From our viewpoint on Earth, the planet appears to slow down, stop momentarily, and then proceed to go backwards in it‘s travels around the Sun. However, even though it’s just a matter of perception, when a planet goes retrograde, it works on our psyche in a different way than it does when it is moving forward. Notice please that I didn’t say “bad”, I said “different”.
Most people have heard of Mercury retrograde in the context of all the horrible, disastrous things that can happen that will be sure to create chaos in our lives. It is true that we need to be extra aware of how we are commun...
For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to rocks and stones and crystals, picking up pretty ones here and there, almost everywhere I went! I frequently had stones in my pockets and my trinket boxes were always full of them. But it wasn’t until I got much older that I heard of Crystal Healing. I’d always felt compelled to pick up those stones I felt a connection with but I didn’t realize I was intuitively picking up on the stones abilities to heal. I started doing research on my own and carrying certain crystals according to what I felt my needs were. Stones like Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Azurite, and Malachite really helped me through some things.
Fast forward to the present day, after much hard work and study, I have graduated Hibiscus Moon’s Crystal Academy with my Certification in Crystal Healing and I couldn’t be more excited! For those of you out there saying to yourself, “What is this crazy thing called Crystal Healing???”, let me explain. This is going...
Mercury’s ingress into Capricorn last night had me waking up this morning already thinking about my to do list! Mercury in Capricorn is very practical, wants to put things in order, plan ahead and put those ideas into motion so this is the energy we will be dealing with for the rest of January. As most of you know, I’ve been working towards getting my Crystal Healing Certification and this past Saturday, I completed 2 of my 3 required volunteer sessions. It was AMAZING! Not only did I feel so prepared and ready to conduct the sessions, my volunteers were so open and ready to receive and that made it even more incredible! They came out of their sessions having felt the powerful energy of the crystals, feeling more relaxed and energized than ever! Blockages were removed and chakras balanced, ready and able to once again tackle life’s challenges head on! So this week, Mercury in Capricorn has had me thinking and planning ahead, working on my essays, organizing and typing up materials to g...
On Thursday December 21st, the northern hemisphere will experience the Winter Solstice! The longest night and shortest day of the year come together and mark the time when the light of the Sun is reborn into our lives.
It’s easy to get caught up in our busy lives especially this time of year, with shopping and preparing for family gatherings, but I feel that it‘s at these times of busyness and stress, that it‘s most important to nurture our connection with Nature. Nature keeps us grounded and connected to the Earth which keeps us balanced and healthy in every way. No matter what practices or traditions you typically align yourself with, there are some simple ways you can honor and connect with Nature and welcome back the light!
Watch the sunrise or sunset. I am decidedly NOT a morning person, unable to clear the fog from my brain much before 10am even when I rise at 7:30am, so as much I would love to see the sunrise, I will be opting for sunset.
Healers don't always have it completely together. There are days when even we need to step back and take some time for our own healing. Today is one of those days for me. It's my Dad’s birthday. I knew it was coming, I just didn’t quite know how I was going to feel about it when it got here. Most days, I'm fine, and even today I'm fine, I just feel like I need the catharsis of talking about him, writing about him, and having the house quiet to leave space for the memories to invite themselves in. I lost him in the Spring, which I've mentioned in a couple of my other posts, here and here. He’d been in the hospital for a couple of weeks with lung and kidney issues and congestive heart failure. He was only 70. Only 70. We’re so used to people living into their 80’s, 90’s, and even 100+ years now is not unheard of with advanced technology and medicine that 70 years old just seems too young to die, even though my higher self knows that everyone transitions at exactly the right time.
