Full Moon in Scorpio: Ch-Ch-Changes!

The Full SuperMoon in Scorpio happens on Monday April 26th at 11:31 EDT (adjust for your time zone) at 8 Scorpio, and has spiritual importance as it was the Full Moon in Scorpio under which the Buddha received enlightenment.

As with all Full Moons, this one is asking us to release what is no longer serving us on the Taurus/Scorpio axis, especially any resistance we have to change, because this lunation is full of it! And with this being a Super Moon, it's super-charged!

The Sun is in Taurus opposing the Moon in Scorpio, however, the Sun is accompanied by 3 other planets as well: Uranus, Venus, and Mercury. It's a party in Taurus! (Astrologically, these "parties" are referred to stelliums.)

Normally, all this Taurus energy would be inclined to stay comfortable or within the comfort zone except that Uranus is involved here, and so you may be feeling a strong desire for the freedom to live life on your own terms, to change things up and employ some outside-the-box approach. There’s the desire and planning to build or restructure something to make it long-lasting, to make it so that it will resist the decay of Scorpio. But don’t expect certainty and security – the polarity of Taurus and Scorpio demands that there must be a balance between clinging to the material and understanding that nothing lasts forever. Conversely, resist the urge to go off the deep end of Scorpio and just completely destroy what’s in place – there are lateral moves that can be made here. Tap into the power of nurturing and self-care, especially to develop your confidence, self-esteem and compassion for yourself right now.

As Saturn is challenging this lunation, start asking yourself some questions:

What is your responsibility to the community involved? Does what you’re working towards serve the many, not just the one? How can what we’re working on be restructured and changed to benefit more people?

What old values are we still using to build that are no longer serving our highest good? What new values would work better?

Where can you set aside your fear of the new or change and responsibly experiment with some innovative ideas?

Some of the answers may lie in the way you shine your light and lead authentically, from a steady, calm, and grounded heart space. When one leads from that unshakeable feeling of inner peace and security that one exudes when they know that they have all they need inside of them, people notice. It builds their confidence trust in you.

If you wish to ritualize this lunation, the element to work with here is water. Scorpio loves occult practices, and so scrying with water would be ideal! scrying is a very old method of divination that involves staring into water, and waiting to receive images or visions. All you need is a bowl and some water, say a prayer, set your intention and see what happens. For extra energy, do this outside under the Full Moon with the reflection on your water. If you happen to live near a body of water such as a lake or a pond, you could use that instead. But if scrying doesn't resonate with you, any way you can incorporate water into your ritual will be fine. Taking a bath and "washing away" your resistance to change would work too - add some salt to the water and some non-toxic crystals (some crystals such as Malachite leach toxins when placed in water so always double check!).
